When Mia was born, her mother, Yesenia, found herself overwhelmed by fear and uncertainty. The unexpected news of Mia’s cleft lip and palate left Yesenia grappling with feelings she couldn’t fully understand. It wasn’t until a psychologist gently guided her through those emotions that she found the courage to meet her baby girl for the first time. That moment, when their eyes met, was transformative. Yesenia’s heart filled with love, and she knew she would do whatever it took to give her daughter the brightest future.

A dear friend introduced Yesenia to Global Smile Foundation (GSF), a meeting that would forever change their lives. At just six months old, Mia was cradled in the arms of the GSF team, her tiny face lighting up the room with a smile so pure it brought tears to everyone present. Fast forward eight years, and Mia is now a vibrant, spirited young girl whose energy is as boundless as her dreams.
